Network layer DDoS mitigation: what's changed, and what's next.
A closed-door dinner for the network, infrastructure and security leaders running Australia's most critical enterprises. Ten to twelve seats, Chatham House rules, and a conversation that stays in the room.
DDoS attacks are accelerating in both scale and sophistication. Cloudflare recently mitigated the largest attack ever recorded, at 31.4 Tbps. Attacks that once peaked at hundreds of gigabits now routinely target network infrastructure directly, at Layers 3 and 4.
Legacy defences were not built for this. Scrubbing centres, on-premises appliances and ISP filtering all assume there is time to redirect traffic, and capacity at the other end to absorb it. At terabit scale, neither assumption reliably holds.
On behalf of Cloudflare and Innovatus Media, we invite you to a private executive dinner convening a small group of senior network and infrastructure leaders. The session is built to compare notes on modern network-layer defence, hear from peers who have already made the transition, and look honestly at what always-on, cloud-native protection does and does not solve.
Closed-door, peer-to-peer, and deliberately small. Ten to twelve seats at the table.
Some of the talking points we will explore include, but will not be limited to:
The table is also open to CIOs and CISOs with direct accountability for network infrastructure, and to director-level leaders across cyber security and cyber governance.
Chris Lucas brought his Venetian steakhouse to Sydney in late 2025, taking the ground floor of the heritage-listed Qantas House on Chifley Square. Royal blue textiles, halo pendants, a 30 metre marble bar, and a kitchen built around the Josper grill and wood oven.
We'll be in one of the two private dining rooms, away from the main floor. A three-course menu is served throughout the discussion, so the conversation doesn't stop for dinner.
Magic Transit implemented in under 36 hours. 100% uptime held across every traveller service, and more than 100,000 daily visitors protected through an active international threat.
Cloudflare runs one of the world's largest networks, sitting in front of a significant share of internet traffic. Magic Transit extends that network to become your network perimeter, absorbing volumetric and protocol-level attacks at the edge rather than routing them to a scrubbing centre. Always on, inline, and measured in seconds rather than minutes.
Connecting Innovation. Innovatus Media partners with global technology companies to connect C-suite leaders around the world with new ideas, ways of working, and technologies. Innovatus' events are built on peer-to-peer collaboration, are private discussions, and are delivered with a lot of humility and informal energy.
Places are strictly limited and held by invitation. Complete the form below and a member of the Innovatus Media team will be in touch to confirm.
This is a closed-door business event, so registration requires a business email address. If you'd rather talk to someone first, email events@innovatusmedia.com.
If you'd prefer to understand the format, the table, or who else is in the room before registering, the Innovatus Media team is happy to talk.
